Author event: Erick Brenstrum, meteorologist and weather historian, talks climate change
Temperatures are rising, breaking records worldwide. Rainfall has intensified causing catastrophic flooding. Droughts and wildfires are more frequent as global warming takes hold.
Ice cores, tree rings and pollen deposits are revealing ancient climates. Historians are exploring, in increasing detail, the impact of past climate changes on human affairs.
Erick Brenstrum, author, meteorologist and weather historian, delves into books in the Wellington City library collection that discuss why the climate is changing, what will happen next and what we can do about it.
