Our population is changing rapidly. Are we prepared?
Our population is forecast to continue to grow – from 5.3 million people today to 7 million by 2060 – and age, urbanise, and diversify over that time.
The changes raise urgent questions: Who will we rely on for our future workforce? How can we provide for – and invest in – our tamariki and mokopuna? How can we manage increasing costs of pensions and healthcare? What services will rural communities require? How should we approach immigration?
