Presented by Dr Miranda Buhler
Effective workforce planning requires consideration of the full range of activities clinicians undertake to support optimal patient, staff and organisational outcomes. These include direct patient care, patient-related work undertaken outside clinical encounters, and broader clinical support activities, staff credentialling and professional development. This short seminar explores how these activities are accounted for when estimating allied health staffing requirements, highlighting the tensions and challenges involved. It draws on findings from a recent scoping review of the literature and the Health NZ Allied Health Staffing Evaluation Project.
You can view the Evaluation Report and previous seminar recordings at the School of Physiotherapy’s departmental webpage.
