David Knox is the Principal Data Scientist at Lynker Analytics, a Wellington based geospatial, data engineering and machine learning company.
David has led Lynkers modeling efforts for land cover classification, feature detection (think buildings and roads) amongst others.
In this talk, David will give an overview of some of the projects he and Lynker have completed in the last year and a half, discussing data inputs, data handling, modeling approaches and measurement. Then, complexities, problems, challenges, obstacles and how they overcame at least some of these.
To top it off, David will discuss a current R&D project at Lynker, to approximate a solar insolation raster using deep learning on lidar.
