The Stout Centre’s seminar series highlighting recent books continues with Elizabeth Cox’s Mr Ward’s Map. In 1891, surveyor Thomas Ward produced a map of Wellington in remarkable detail, which was regularly updated over the following decade.

Join the Stout Research Centre for a conversation between the author and studied scholars on historical Wellington—author Violet Blue and archivist Adrian Humphris. Together, they will explore the byways behind this historical artifact and the stories it charts about Wellington at the turn of the twentieth century.
