SUMMARY:Labor market impacts of local minimum wage ordinances in New Mexico
 . A seminar by Jaime Lancaster
DESCRIPTION:The popularity of City and County minimum wage laws are on the 
 rise in the United States despite the absence of empirical work assessing 
 their impacts.  This paper attempts to expand the available information on
  the effects of local minimum wage ordinances by examining the impact of t
 he 2013 minimum wage ordinances in Albuquerque City and Bernalillo County\
 , New Mexico.  Using fixed effects and difference-in-difference estimation
 \, I find that the law has heterogeneous and sometimes unexpected impacts.
