Professor Mark Burgman will present on ‘Using AI to link Red List assessments to firm activities for nature positive investment’.

Current Red List threat assessments estimate extinction risk, but they don’t readily map how specific business activities affect particular threatened species. Likewise, sustainable investment indices are often limited by the lack of strong links between on-the-ground activities, and the likelihood of species decline or extinction.

Join CEBRA as Professor Burgman outlines how research using expert judgement AI-generated argument maps aims to build these links as well as how this same pathway-based approach could be adapted for biosecurity risk, linking pest or pathogen introduction and spread to specific actions and decision points.
