 d Southern Māori wahine\, and someone who spends an unreasonable amount o
 f time thinking about the parts of the genome that everyone else ignores.\
 n\nI lead the ENHANCE (Equity iN Health and Non-Coding Elements) Lab at th
 e Ōtakou Whakaihu Waka\, where my team and I explore the “hidden genome
 ”\, all those mysterious non-coding regions that quietly influence gene 
 regulation and complex disease. Importantly we focus on the non-coding reg
