Presented by Dr Miranda Buhler
A key component of health workforce planning at the service and organisational level is estimating the required full-time equivalent (FTE) staffing.
Drawing on the recent Health NZ Allied Health Staffing Methodology Evaluation Project, this short seminar examines the workload-based formula used to estimate allied health FTE requirements. It explores how staff entitlements, mandatory activities and clinical support time are accounted for, and examines the role of the “clinical care ratio” (CCR) in determining “available clinical hours” to enable comparisons between service capacity and demand.
