Bioacoustics has a large role to play in monitoring of ecological systems. Automatic acoustic recorders revolutionised the collection of soundscape data, but the analysis of this data lags far behind. I will describe the AviaNZ project, which aims to find solutions to the various problems that will make bioacoustics a practical method. I will also introduce several conservation and ecology questions that I’m currently interested in.

All Welcome! There will be book sales at the event

Pizza & meet the speaker afterwards at 1pm in the TTR tearoom
