NetTalks is quickfire kōrero on digital and tech that sheds light on diverse aspects of our online lives. Six speakers, six minutes each, six unique takes on tech.
Whether it’s AI, digital equity, Internet of Things, social media, cybersecurity, sustainability in tech, Internet Governance or Māori innovation, speakers will shed light on their what, why, and why it matters.
Short talks, big impact.
What would happen if we used AI as a force for good? What does decolonisation look like in the tech world? Who really controls the Internet?
Six speakers, in just six minutes each, will answer these questions and more at NetTalks Te Whanganui-a-Tara on May 12.
The line-up
The effortlessly charming and award-winningly witty Michele A’Court will host six speakers:
Aleisha Amohia on the power and potential of open source
Chris Cormack on why decolonisation is not a metaphor in the tech world
Craig Young on the role of connectivity in shaping Aotearoa’s digital future
Jodi Anderson on why everyday people should care about who controls the Internet
Katie Brown on the future of social media for inclusion, AI regulation, and why Indigenous leadership matters
Lani Evans on using AI as a force for good
NetTalks is also about bringing people together.
There’ll be time before and after the talks to enjoy drinks and nibbles, meet the speakers, and connect with others who care about the future of the Internet in Aotearoa.
You don’t need to work in tech or be an expert on the Internet — just bring your curiosity.
Come along to listen, learn, and connect.
